Stacey Millett
Stacey Millett is a recently retired professional and current member of the boards of the YMCA of Western North Carolina and Asheville Habitat for Humanity. Professionally, Ms. Millet spent over 30 years working in social services and helped LIPs in Washington, DC, Minnesota, and South Carolina. Prior to retirement, Ms. Millett was Project Director for The Pew Charitable Trust’s Health Impact Project, a collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The project illuminated how health is directly influenced by social and economic factors such as employment, housing, and education.
Before joining Pew, Ms. Millett served as Executive Director for Community Engagement at the University of North Carolina-Asheville, promoting health living with an emphasis on groups with health disparities. She also served as Executive Director of the University’s North Carolina Center for Health and Wellness, where she used a health equity lens to ensure that conditions where people live, learn, work and play promote opportunities for all people to reach their full health potential. Ms. Millett served as senior program officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation, where she developed, managed and evaluated grants and projects to address preventable gaps in health outcomes for low-resource communities throughout the state.
Ms. Millett holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in Television and Radio from Syracuse University.
