Building America invests in projects that expand access to critical services for low-income communities, including quality education, comprehensive healthcare, and other essential resources that strengthen long-term community well-being.
For example, in 2023 Building America allocated $15 million in NMTCs to the $89.2 million restoration of the Public Health Campus on Cedar, a 100+ year old community hospital in Philadelphia, PA that had closed in 2020. The updated facility is projected to serve 65,000 patients annually across a wide variety of medical disciplines, including but not limited to emergency medicine, pediatrics, and behavioral health services.
