Christopher Kaiser

Mr. Kaiser is Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Building America. He also serves as the HITs Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. He previously served as the HIT’s Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer from June 2007 to October of 2008. In his position, he assists the General Counsel on HIT legal issues. In addition, he has primary responsibility for the HIT’s regulatory compliance program including compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate governance requirements and the preparation of all regulatory filings. He is also BACDEs compliance officer responsible for assisting with program and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining the HIT in 2007, he was Branch Chief, Division of Investment Management, at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), working in the area of investment company rulemaking Mr. Kaiser began his tenure at the SEC as a Staff Attorney from 2001 to 2003, followed by an appointment as Senior Special Counsel from 2003 to 2004. From 1995 to 2001. he worked in the San Francisco and Washington, DC, law offices of Thelen Reid & Priest. Mr Kaiser holds a Bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Mr. Kaiser is a member of the Bars of California, Virginia and Washington. DC.
